Like that of many others, Peter Gladwin's life began badly: He was seriously burned in a house fire at the age of one,
put on probation at thirteen for burglary and theft, stabbed in a gang fight at fifteen, and the victim of a hit and run at
twenty-four. Other obstacles included his personal addictions, his wife's battle with cancer, and his father's suicide. While
