Hungry for her next promotion, investigative reporter Keira McLane starts digging into the mysterious history of a local bridge, where a baby is said to have disappeared without a trace in the early 1940s. Unbeknownst to her, her childhood sweetheart, contemporary Christian music artist Wyatt Bettridge, is back in town, in part to help his elderly great aunt—whose property adjoins the bridge—and in part to discern God's calling on the future of his career.

In 1967, Lillian Woodard is one of the few female journalists at the Peterson Post. She's eager to prove herself capable of more than just fluff pieces and home decor columns.
