Position: Marketing and Sales Associate, Kregel Academic and Ministry (KAM), Grand Rapids, MI

Supervisor: Director, Academic and Ministry

Status: Full-time

Position Objective: To carry out day-to-day operations that facilitate the product development, promotion, and sale of Kregel Academic and Ministry resources.

Position Relationships: Will work with and assist Director, Academic and Ministry, and Sales Manager to facilitate the efficient and timely use of resources, systems, and processes, in order to effectively promote the overall goals and objectives of KAM.

Marketing

Execute marketing campaigns for frontlist and key backlist titles

Work with design department to create marketing materials

Interface with Kregel authors on marketing matters

Build and maintain Academic email and catalog lists

Manage KAM Blogger program

Create and maintain Amazon A+ pages and SITB for KAM Titles

Make ad placements and monitor digital ad ROI

Maintain Kregel.com/Academic and Kerux website

Coordinate monthly KAM social media/web focus

Create and send press releases for KAM Books

Maintain marketing budget for Academic, Ministry, and Classics imprints

Provide phone coverage support for the receptionist and customer service

Provide support for digital resellers partnerships

Sales

Conduct textbook research projects

Support textbook adoption program

Call on seminaries and Christian colleges as textbook advocate

Work with design and editorial departments to create Kregel Academic catalog

Promote new releases to academic libraries and bookstores

Sell Kregel books at academic and ministry conferences: travel to about four conferences per year

Coordinate logistics of KAM presence at conferences

Support Sales Manager with sell sheets and presentation information


Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Work Experience: Background in academic publishing, Christian publishing, marketing, or sales, preferred. Background in academic administration or academic bookselling also considered.

Education: BA in Marketing, Communications, Publicity, or related field. Preferred: graduate-level work in biblical studies, theology, or related field.

Knowledge: 3+ years of experience in marketing, publicity, or communications field

Abilities:

Working knowledge of higher education, especially Christian universities and seminaries

Conversant in issues of theology and biblical studies

Excellent organizational skills

Highly motivated and proactive

Creative and innovative

Excellent interpersonal skills

Online advertising experience preferred






Position: Marketing and Sales Associate, Kregel Trade (non-fiction, fiction, Bibles, and children’s books)

Supervisor: Marketing Manager for Kregel Trade

Status: Full-time

Position Objective: To carry out day-to-day operations that facilitate the product development, promotion, and sale of Kregel Trade and its partner publishers.

Position Relationships: Will work with and assist the Marketing Manager and Sales Manager to facilitate the efficient and timely use of resources, systems, and processes, in order to effectively promote the overall goals and objectives of Kregel Trade.

Position Responsibilities

Support

Maintain all marketing schedules

Attend marketing meetings and record notes

Maintain/record marketing budget/expenditures

Make ad placements and regularly monitor digital ad ROI

Record and scan magazine publicity hits

Support outside publicity partners with press kits, galley sends, interview confirmations, etc.

Prepare and mail endorser, influencer, blog tour, review, and giveaway copies

Update and maintain mailing lists: catalog, review copy emails, journal reviewers

Record publicity and reviewer information

Assist with maintaining Kregel websites: Coming Soon, New Releases, uploading books per season, bios, pictures

Record conference attendees’ information from giveaway cards

Provide phone coverage support for the receptionist and customer service

Update and maintain DiscoverTogether website and other Kregel-maintained websites

create excerpt previews to upload to website

Contact authors for blog posts on Kregel.com regularly

Monitor/report on author/blog activities and follow up

Follow relevant bloggers and authors. Research and record potential bloggers for upcoming titles

Maintain and grow blogger contact list for all KP titles, including research into potential sites

Build and expand email subscription lists

Writing

Support and supplement Instagram content with Marketing Manager

In coordination with Marketing Manager, create Robly eblasts

Create and send press releases for Kregel.com

Write and build monthly newsletter for Kregel Trade

Sales

Support Sales Manager with sell sheets and presentation information

Maintain cover/title image data

Create and maintain Amazon A+ pages SITB for Kregel Trade titles

Support Edelweiss, Ingram IQ, and other industry programs

Provide sales sources with product information

Monitor and correct Kregel and partner publisher book information on internal and external (online) databases

Coordinate conferences and attend 3-4 per year, including interacting and selling to customers


Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, English, Communications, or related field, plus two years related experience. Familiarity with Christian publishing and/or church life a plus.
