Two Gilead Titles Named as 2019 Carol Award Finalists

GRAND RAPIDS, MI--Miles from Where We Started by Cynthia Ruchti and The Melody of the Soul by Liz Tolsma have been named finalists for the Carol Awards.

Honored in the contemporary category, Miles from Where We Started follows the trials of a couple ready to give up on love only a year into their marriage. Best-selling author Ruchti has signed with Kregel Publications for a forthcoming contemporary romance to be released in Fall 2020.

The Melody of the Soul, the first book in the World War II-era Music of Hope series, is a finalist in the historical category. With over a dozen novels and novellas published, Tolsma is a seasoned and best-selling historical fiction author.

Both books were originally published with Gilead Publishing, a distribution and publishing partner of Kregel Publications.

The Carol Awards, hosted by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), recognize the best Christian fiction published by traditional publishing houses in the previous calendar year. Carol Award finalists were announced on June 30 via social media.

The winners will be announced during the gala awards dinner in Nashville as part of ACFW's annual conference. A complete list of finalists can be found on their website:
