GRAND RAPIDS, MI — On Friday, November 7, the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association announced the winners of the 2025 Christy Awards. One Kregel author was a winner in the Short Form category.
Susie Finkbeiner's novella "A Daffodil in the Dress" is from the historical romance novella collection Something Borrowed. The collection traces generations of wartime romances via a wedding dress.
"A Daffodil in the Dress" follows Kate Becker and Ike Finch, who have worked together at his family's bookstore since Kate's husband died in the early days of the Vietnam War. Kate has bills to pay and her daughter Eloise to take care of, and this job was a godsend. A second love is not in the cards, especially not with the world still teetering on the edge of insanity. But when Ike brings little Eloise special flowers one spring day, Kate begins to look at him as more than an employer. Is falling in love again worth the risk?
Kregel is pleased to congratulate Susie Finkbeiner. The full list of winners can be found here.
The Christy Award is the foremost award honoring and promoting excellence in Christian fiction since 1999 and is named for Catherine Marshall's novel Christy, which has sold over 10 million copies since its publication in 1967. ECPA assumed ownership and administration of the award in 2017 to focus and grow the unique opportunity of fiction in Christian publishing.
