GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Four Kregel authors were named finalists for the 2025 Christy Awards. The announcement was made via webcast on September 19 and included thirty-five finalists across nine fiction categories.
All three novellas from Something Borrowed were named as finalists in Short Form. "A Heart in Disguise" by Rachel Scott McDaniel, "A Letter to Eli" by Allison Pittman, and "A Daffodil in the Dress" by Susie Finkbeiner trace generations of wartime romances through a special wedding dress with love sewn into its seams.
Walking on Hidden Wings by Rachel Scott McDaniel is a finalist in Historical Romance. In the Roaring Twenties, a new widow sets out on a wild mission to find the killer of her late husband—and prove it wasn't her. She discovers that what she once believed as truth may be nothing more than lies and deception.
The winners in each category will be announced on November 7 on the Christy Award Gala Webcast at 7:00 p.m. The full list of finalists can be found here.
The Christy Award is the foremost award honoring and promoting excellence in Christian fiction since 1999 and is named for Catherine Marshall's novel Christy, which has sold over ten million copies since its publication in 1967. ECPA assumed ownership and administration of the award in 2017 to focus and grow the unique opportunity of fiction in Christian publishing.
