Stephen Critchlow

Stephen spent many years as a consultant psychiatrist working for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom, based in Northern Ireland.

He began life in Stockport, Cheshire, and attended Stockport Grammar School, before undertaking medical training at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge and then King’s College Hospital, London. Married for thirty-eight years, Stephen and his wife have five adult daughters and five grandchildren.

Over the years, Stephen has been involved in leading and planting churches in various countries including England, Ireland and Cyprus. From this fairly broad background, he has been able to examine mental health issues from psychiatric, spiritual and pastoral perspectives, and these all inform his writings.

He is now retired from active clinical practice, but travels widely to talk on mental health issues with a spiritual dimension. Details of planned talks can be found at his website: www.stephencritchlowmentalhealth.com
