“Thus says the Lord God to these bones: ‘Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.’”
Ezekiel 37:5–6 (NKJV)

When you are unsure about how to begin your prayer time, dive right in! Start with God first: “Lord, thank You for loving me. And thank You that as I look around, I see Your awesome and lovely creation. Thank You for Your sacrifice so I can know You and know that I have Your promise of eternal life. Thank You, too, for the Holy Spirit.” Just keep on thinking of the Lord and the many ways He has blessed you.

Next, consider your relationship with Him: “Lord, what can I do today to live out the fact that You are my ultimate priority?” Write down God’s answers and promptings. Then ask, “Lord, what can I do today to grow spiritually? How can I prepare for future ministry?”

Finish with, “Lord, what else would You have me do today?” These simple prayers put your heart and feet in line with God and His plan. And just like the dry bones in Ezekiel, you too can experience the living, breathing power of God!

Prayer:
Father, my heart is shouting, “Thank you!” I love that I can come to You with praise and thanksgiving . . . and get my questions answered. Thank You for caring about the big and little things that happen in my life, and for prompting me to do the things that really matter. Once again, thank You, Father. Amen.
